The Journal of China’s Resistance War against Japan was established in 1991. It is sponsored by the Society for the History of China’s Resistance War against Japan and edited by the Institute of Modern History, CASS. It is an academic journal covering the history of the Resistance War against Japan.

The aim of the journal is to promote historical research, to sum up the lessons of history, and to spread patriotism, while upholding the correct guidance of public opinion. The magazine’s policy is to promote a practical spirit and a diversity of views. The journal is aimed at readers in academia and other areas of society who are concerned about modern Chinese history, the history of the Resistance War against Japan and the history of Sino-Japanese relations.

The journal’s field of research covers the history of Japanese aggression against China, and the history of China’s resistance war against Japan, including studies on politics, military affairs, economy, diplomacy, thought, culture, wartime society and issues left over by war.
